Meeting Places

• January to March 2022 - Club met every Saturday in 2022 at Kakaako Waterfront Park.

• April 9, 2022 - Club moved to our present Salt Lake meeting location.

Events: 

• January – December 2022 - Myungwan Kim 9P provided Go lectures on various topics, reviews of professional games and                                                          member’s games and played simultaneous games with members.  Began a Zoom session for Maui,                                                 Hilo and Punahou Students using KGS.

• March 28, 2022 - Myungwan Kim and Sid go to Punahou School to do a Go presentation to students of "Buddhism and the Game                               of Go" class.

• October 28, 2022 - Participated in University of Hawaii Japan Culture Day at UH Campus Center Ballroom.  Introduced students                                   to the game of Go and played 9x9 games with them.  The club has participated in this annual event since                                        2012.

• November 13, 2022 – Participated in the Shichi-Go-San event at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii.  Introduced event                                               attendees to the game of Go and played 9x9 games with them. 

Significant events:

• Myungwan Kim 9P moves to Honolulu and first attends our club meetings on March 18, 2022.

• Moved our meeting place from Kakaako Waterfront Park to my garage in Salt Lake in April 2022.

• Salt Lake location is equipped with tables, chairs, Go sets, large magnetic Go board, whiteboard and Go library.

• Youtube video is created to promote Honolulu Go Club.

• Ayal donated 2 wide screen TVs for use to review games with computer hookup for our Salt Lake location.

• Cedric graduated from the University of Hawaii with a PhD and will be moving to Boston for work.

Go Education:

• Myungwan Kim 9P teaches Go weekly to youths at Mun Lun Chinese School in Chinatown.
