Meeting Places

• Starting January 1, 2011 the club started playing at Borders Book Store (pic below) on the second floor since Satura Cakes closed due to bankruptcy.  Borders was a great meeting place since the store foot traffic provided us with a lot of public exposure.

• Starting July 30, 2011 the club started playing at Kewalo Basin Park (pic below) because Borders closed due to bankruptcy.  Our membership dropped drastically.

• Starting December 3, 2011 the club started playing at Nuuanu Soto Mission (pic below).  The reason was because November was the start of rainy season and Kewalo Basin Park provided no shelter from rain.

Professional Visit

• January 29, 2011 - Kawamura Masamichi 7P from the Kansai Kiin at Waikoloa.

Events

• January 29, 2011 - Big Island Go Tournament - at Hilton Waikoloa Hotel.

• March 16, 2011 - Liliha Library - Introduced library goers to the game of Go.

• March 11-13, 2011 Honolulu Festival -  Introduced festival attendees to the game of Go and played 9x9 games with them.  This was our first participation in this event.

• April 30, 2011 Kawai Kon Anime Convention - Demonstrated how to play Go to large audience (auditorium).  This was our first participation in this event.
